“ THIS IS THE BEST RAMEN SPOT IN ALABAMA!! It’s true, genuine ramen, and I know because I’ve been to Japan and tried countless bowls of authentic ramen. Coming back to Alabama, the restaurants that sell “ramen” always left much to be desired, they were way too Americanized or just lacking impact. At Umami, the ramen tastes straight from Japan. The broth is sooo rich and tasteful. You can sip on it by itself and it’s a delightful experience. Not to mention the traditional toppings are to die for—Naruto, bamboo shoot, seaweed, and the chasu pork is extremely well flavored. It’s absolutely divine. I’ve come 3 times, so far the Naruto Ramen has been my favorite (who’s surprised) and will continue to come again and again. Amazing customer service from all staff!! Kudos to the chefs!! We had a table booked online, came to check in, and asked for a seat outside because the weather was so good. The waiter was nice, took our order, and brought out the food quickly and smoothly. “ This is possibly the best experience I have had at a restaurant. The outside bartender was super nice and courteous which set us in a great mood. The service was perfect, we didn’t wait for anything, in fact I was amazed how fast the food came out. The food. Mercy. The food is off the chain. Vegetarian spring rolls with sauce was ridiculously good. Sushi tacos had such a delicious and unique flavor. My spicy pork belly ramen made me rethink everything I know about cooking. “ I had an amazing meal at Umami Trussville! The Chicken Gyoza was perfectly crispy on the outside and flavorful on the inside, a great way to start the meal. The Spicy Pork Belly Ramen was outstanding – rich, flavorful broth with tender pork belly that melted in my mouth, and just the right amount of spice to kick it up a notch. The portion sizes were generous, and the service was top-notch. Definitely recommend if you're craving delicious ramen and gyoza! ”
“ I wasn’t surprised to learn that this is a sister restaurant to Nori. The rolls are similar but bursting with flavor. The rolls are colorful, delicious, and fresh. If you aren’t someone who typically opts for raw rolls, you don’t want to skip it here. There’s no fishy taste or texture. Everything was crafted with perfection. We selected the spicy coconut shrimp soup, crispy fish tacos, and crispy shrimp tacos. They were all flavorful and delicious. I did however prefer the shrimp taco to the fish one. We also tried several rolls including the Trussville roll, Long Island roll, caipirinha roll, sugar mami roll, and sugar daddy roll. They were all amazing and we would definitely recommend! The service was pleasant. Our server was polite and offered suggestions when asked. The restaurant is spacious with seating available for small and large parties. Great experience for a date night or family outing. ”
“ I love the entertainment district. Such a great addition to Trussville. I had the spicy coconut soup with shrimp, Bulgogi and 10 hour pork belly tacos, and the baked crab avocado. Menu has a ton of selection and I’m certain it would please almost any palette. Will be back to try the ramen and sushi next! ”
